The best user experiences come from a sound design and development process and a good understanding of user data. We can teach you some of our usability and design methods.

The User-Centered Design Process
We describe the steps, the design and usability deliverables, and the ways you can involve users at every stage for best user experience results. You will get a good overview of methods and see some concrete examples of each. (1/2 day)

Usability Testing Intensive Tutorial
You will come to our lab and apprentice yourself to our usability staff for one day. There are three presentations: how to prepare a usability test plan, how to conduct a think-aloud user test, and how to analyse and report on your data. The middle section of the day features a test session, followed by a debriefing discussion. The test will focus on your web-site or a site of your choice. Limited to 3 or fewer participants per day. (1 day)

Discount Usability Techniques
Perform your own “discount” usability inspections and reviews during your design process, without the need for an expensive laboratory setup. We illustrate how to do several types of review with end users and helpful colleagues at your company. (1/2 day)

User Research Data: Marketing and Usability
We will introduce usability research methods, both quantitative and qualitative, and compare them with traditional marketing methods. We will describe the benefits and limits of each and discuss when to use each for the best results.
